Summary
The purpose of this item is for staff to establish future annexation recommendations for the City of Pflugerville. Section 8.08 of the City's Charter provides for power and duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission in which the Commission is required to "annually recommend an annexation plan to the city council." This provision is also reinforced by statuatory annexation requirements to maintain an annexation plan. None of the areas being considered, however require action to amend the City's 3-year annexation plan since they are exempt areas with fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval on June 6, 2011 by a 6-1 vote.
