Summary
On January 26, 2021, Council approved a Replacement Water Tower Lease Agreement with Verizon Wireless so they could continue utilizing our water tower, located near Hendrickson High School, for purposes of mounting their wireless network antennas. By renegotiating said contract to current market rates, the City was able to more than double its revenue it would have received over the next ten-year period.
This agreement provides for another tenant, New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC (AT&T), to utilize this water tower as well. The agreement itself is almost identical to the agreement with Verizon Wireless and will generate an additional $428,330 over the initial ten (10) year period.
