Approving the appointment of Mr. Dan Franz, P.E. as City Engineer.
Summary
Section 4.06 of the City Charter specifies that the City Manager shall appoint the head of each administrative department, subject to the approval of the City Council. The City Manager has offered the position of City Engineer for the City of Pflugerville to Mr. Franz and he has accepted the position, subject to the approval of the City Council.
Over thirty applications were received for the position. The selection and interview process was led by Mr. Trey Fletcher, Assistant City Manager, with assistance from Mr. Dennis O'Neill, Human Resources Officer, Mr. Blake Overmyer, Building Official, and Mr. Tom Word, P.E., Assistant City Manager. Following this process, Mr. Franz was found to be by far the most qualified candidate, combining public and private sector experience and serving most recently as a Senior Engineer with the City of Cedar Park.
Status
Subject to approval, Mr. Franz will start on April 16, 2012.
