Title
Presentation of life saving awards to City employees for water rescue.

Summary
On Tuesday, March 20, 2012, City workers in the Park Maintenance crew rescued a middle schooler from the flood waters of Gilleland Creek. He had gotten caught in the swift water near the Fallen Warrior Memorial on the way to school. Hearing his cries for help, Antonio Rodriguez Jr. jumped in the water from the bridge and secured the young boy. Parks Maintenance crewmembers Stacy Howle, Roy Saldana and Gabriel Perez were onsite and also assisted with the rescue and brought the boy to the pool house. The young man’s mother was called and  thanked Antonio and the other crew members for their actions.
