Title
Awarding the contract for the Mountain Creek Trail project to the lowest responsive bidder, Westar Construction, Inc., in the amount of $101,153.16 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.  This project is being funded through a grant from the Texas Recreational Trails Fund administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, a grant from the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation, City of Pflugerville Parks Escrow, City of Pflugerville In-Kind Labor, and the 2012 General Capital Reserve.
Summary
The Mountain Creek Trail project extends from South 10th Street near Ambrose Drive to Wells Branch Parkway at Settlers Valley Drive.  The 2,400' long crushed granite trail with concrete ribbon curbs will include benches, trash receptacles, pet waste stations, and interpretive signage.  Construction is expected to begin by the end of April with completion of the project before July 15, 2012.  The attached "Mountain Creek Trail Tabulation of Bids" includes the base plus alternate bid values in which the low bidder was Westar Construction, Inc.  The engineering estimate for this project was $120,000.
 
Status
The project was advertised for bids on March 21, 2012 and March 28, 2012.  Eleven (11) bids were received and opened on April 4, 2012.
