Discuss and consider action regarding active transit planning contracts and associated activities.

 

Summary

This item has been included on the agenda to allow for discussion and potential action on the item.  This item was requested by Councilmember Heath and Councilmember Cooper at the April 12, 2016 City Council meeting.

 

Status

There are two active transit planning contracts in place which complement one another. The interlocal agreement with Capital Metro is for the completion of a Transit Development Plan (TDP) consistent with Capital Metro's service expansion policy. This agreement was approved  by the City Council on October 13, 2015 with an ending date of September 20, 2016.

 

As of July 28, 2016, the City has not been invoiced for any of the work perfomed for the above-referenced interlocal agreement with Capital Metro. The City's total obligation is $17,005, 20% of the total contract of $85,024.

 

The contract between the City of Pflugerville and the Goodman Corporation was approved by the City Council on October 13, 2015. The consultant was selected via a cooperative purchasing agreement with the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) with which Pflugerville has an interlocal agreement. Generally, the scope of work is to work with and assist city staff during the development of the TDP and seek opportunities for implementation.

 

As of July 28, 2016, the City has paid $48,950 of the total contract amount of $167,000.
