Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms for consulting services related to an Inflow and Infiltration Study.
This project will include a comprehensive analysis of extraneous flows into the wastewater collection system. A hydraulic modeling of the wastewater collection system will be required to serve as the basis for future decisions regarding the improvements, expansion and maintenance of the system.
The primary role of the consultant will be to compile and analyze existing flow monitoring data, identify areas of high inflow and infiltration, perform field work such as flow monitoring and source detention activities and recommend mitigation and rehabilitation projects to reduce inflow and infiltration.
Status
City staff received four (4) proposals. A review team of Public Works staff scored the proposals. RJN Group, Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm for this project.
Projected Future City Council Action
A future agenda item will be scheduled to approve the agreement. Staff anticipates negotiations to take place in the next month and a contract will be presented for Council review and consideration in October.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project is in the fiscal year 2016 Utility Administration department in the Other Professional Fees line item.
