Approving a 5-year lease with the Travis County Emergency Services District #2 for the Development Services Center.
Summary
The proposed lease extends the previous 5-year lease for the first floor (6,044 square feet) of the Conference and Education Center Building located at 201-B East Pecan Street. The lease space will continue to house the Development Services Center, including 23 employees within the Building Inspection, Development Engineering and Planning departments. The City Attorney has reviewed the lease agreement.
Prior City Council Action
The previous lease was approved by the City Council on September 13, 2011.
Deadline for City Council Action
Staff requests action on September 27 to secure the lease commencing October 1, 2016.
Projected Future City Council Action
No additional action is needed.
Fiscal Impact
The anticipated lease and utility obligations are reflected in the proposed FY 2017 budget and 5-year budget projections. The lease rate for years one and two is $10,919.49/month, $21.68/square foot. The lease rate for years three and four is $11,685.07/month, $23.20/square foot. The lease rate for year 5 is $12,445.60/month, $24.71/square foot.
