Discuss and consider action to approve an agreement with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. in the amount of $76,930 for professional services associated with the design of two (2) traffic signals for the Heatherwilde Blvd. and Grand Avenue Parkway Traffic Signals Project (Heatherwilde Blvd. at Black Locust Dr. and Heatherwilde Blvd. at Pfennig Lane) and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.
Summary
This agreement provides for preparation of construction plans for the following two (2) intersections:
1. Heatherwilde Blvd. at Black Locust Dr.
2. Heatherwilde Blvd. at Pfennig Lane
Preparation of the final engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design, topographic surveys where required, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment and environmental clearances, identification of utility conflicts, required utility adjustments and replacements, coordination with utility companies, determination of ROW/easement acquisition, preparation of ROW/easement acquisition metes/bounds and sketch, preliminary and final engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. to establish a scope of services, schedule and fee for this agreement.
Prior City Council Action
At the April 26, 2016 City Council meeting, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. was selected as the most qualified engineer from the firms that submitted Statements of Qualifications (SOQs). At the July 12, 2016 City Council Meeting, an agreement with four (4) traffic signals was presented to the Council and staff was asked to negotiate two (2) agreements.
Fiscal Impact
