Title
Discuss and consider action to approve an agreement with DCS Engineering Inc. in the amount of $1,576,559 for professional engineering services associated with the design, bidding and construction administration for the West SH130 Wastewater Interceptor Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.
Summary
This project involves installation of approximately 16,000 feet of 36" to 42" sanitary sewer interceptor pipe along Wilbarger Creek and Gilleland Creek beginning at the intersection of FM 685 and Pflugerville Parkway (i.e., Pflugerville Parkway Lift Station) to the Central WWTP using open cut or 70 feet deep tunneling construction methods; installation of approximately 1,000 feet of 15" sanitary sewer under SH 130 to the west side of SH 130 via bore and jack; and demolition of the Pflugerville Parkway Lift Station.
Preparation of the final engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design, topographic surveys where required, geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment and environmental clearances, identification of utility conflicts, required utility adjustments and replacements, coordination with utility companies, determination of ROW/easement acquisition, preparation of ROW/easement acquisition metes/bounds and sketch, preliminary and final engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2015 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and 2015 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Manual.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with DCS Engineering Inc. to establish a scope of services, schedule and fee for this agreement.
