Summary
It has become necessary to revise the existing sign regulations in a manner that provides the citizens of Pflugerville a content neutral sign code developed and based on the United States Supreme Court decision of Reed v. Town of Gilbert and the Austin Court of Appeals decision of Auspro Enterprises v. Texas Department of Transportation.

This ordinance has been included on the agenda to allow for discussion and potential action on the ordinace. This ordinance has been approved as to form by the City Attorney.

A correction was made to the ordinance on first reading to correct "Department of Transportation" to "Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices" in Section 154.103 and to correct the numbering of the section.

Prior to second reading, the ordinance caption was corrected to include the penalty language as required by the City Charter, providing the need for a third reading of the ordinance.

There is no deadline for action.

The ordinance was approved on first reading on October 25, 2016 and second reading on November 8, 2016.
