Summary
A construction contract with Patin Construction Company, Inc. was approved on October 25, 2016 in the amount of $3,028,911.45 for the 1849 Park Project Phase 1 Package A.
The original scope of work for this project included earthwork, storm drain system, water lines, landscaping and irrigation system associated with the construction of six (6) multi-purpose fields and three (3) football fields. This change order adds the construction of a wastewater line through the current project limits that will serve the park as well as future development to the east and west of the park. An additional 40 days will be added to the contract to allow for installation of the wastewater infrastructure.The Engineer's estimated cost for the wastewater addition was $279,245.00.
A change order #1 with a deduction of $2,201.60 for adjusted quantities has been processed.
Prior City Council Action
At the October 25, 2016 meeting, the City Council authorized the city manager to execute a construction contract with Patin Construction Company, Inc. for $3,028,911.45.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for change order #2 will come from existing bond funds within the Utility Wastewater Capital Improvement Project fund.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of this item authorizing the City Manager to execute Change Order #2 with in the amount of $382,681.50 with Patin Construction Company, Inc. for additional work associated with the 1849 Park Project Phase 1 Package A.
