Summary
This project includes approximately 4,900 linear feet of 24-inch water line, 3,200 linear feet of 16-inch water line, two 12-inch pressure reducing valves and related appurtenances.
Cobb Fendley and Associates, the project’s design consultant, completed design work for this project in December. The engineer's estimate for the project was $2,908,252.62.
The attached bid tabulation shows the bids in which Bruce Flanigan Construction was the low bidder with a bid of $1,930,930.20.
Mean average for the bids was $ 2,431,044.82.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on December 14, 2016. Sixteen (16) bids were received and opened on January 12, 2017.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project was included in the approved 5-year Utility CIP and is from previously issued bond funds.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the Weiss Lane Transmission Main Phase 1B project to the lowest responsible bidder, Bruce Flanigan Construction, in the amount of $1,930,930.20.
