Johnson and the City of Pflugerville for wastewater and temporary construction easements for the Carmel Phase 1 Wastewater Interceptor Project.

Summary
The Carmel Phase 1 Wastewater Interceptor Project requires property acquisition of a wastewater and temporary construction easement necessary to construct the project. The temporary construction easement extends 20' off the permanent wastewater easement to allow the contractor additional space to construct the interceptor. The City’s property acquisition consultant and city staff have negotiated with the landowner for the needed property. The cost of $32,500 for an easement purchase agreement has been agreed upon, subject to City Council approval, based on negotiations between the property owner and City.
Approval of this item will authorize the City Manager to execute an easement purchase agreement and associated conveyance documents necessary for formal conveyance of the real property interests.

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the language of the easement purchase agreement.

Fiscal Impact
Funding for acquiring this property for the Carmel Phase 1 Wastewater Interceptor Project is from existing utility bond funding and is included in the approved utility capital improvment program.
