Approving a resolution and authorizing the City Manager to execute an interlocal agreement with the Region VIII Education Service Center to allow for City of Pflugerville membership in the The Interlocal Purchasing Systems (TIPS) purchasing cooperative.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville has joined a number of purchasing cooperatives in the last couple of years as the Purchasing Department has discovered groups that have performed competitive bidding procedures for categories of commodities. The TIPS purchasing cooperative is free to all state agencies, schools (private and public), universities, colleges, city and county government agencies and other not for profit entities. All vendor awarded contracts have been competitively and publicly bid. The City Council took action on December 9, 2014 to approve membership in this cooperative to facilitate the purchase of audio-visual equipment for the City Council Chambers but didn't include the approval of a resolution at that time. The City continues to utilize the TIPS purchasing cooperative and the cooperative has requested the approval of the attached resolution and agreement for continued membership.
The agreement has been approved as to form by the City Attorney.
