Title

Approving a resolution with the caption reading: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS, CONSENTING TO THE ANNEXATION OF APPROXIMATELY 4.99 ACRES OF LAND INTO TRAVIS COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 17; IMPOSING CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND ADOPTION.

Summary

The Sorento Municipal Utility District (MUD) was established in 2006 and consisted of 399.73 acres intended for residential uses.  In 2016, Sorento Holdings in conjunction with the City of Pflugerville acquired an additional 10 acres, known as the Randig Tract, just north of the subdivision.  5.1 acres has been annexed into the city limits and included as part of the city parks system and the balance of 4.99 acres is the area that is being considered for inclusion within the Sorento MUD.  This additional acreage will be subject to the development agreement in place for the property which details the requirements for development in the Sorento MUD.

Prior City Council Action

In 2006, the City of Pflugerville consented to the creation of the Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 17.  (Resolution No. 889-06-07-25-10C)  In 2009, in conjunction with an amendment to the development agreement to swap land to be included within MUD No. 17, the City consented to the MUD annexation of approximately 119.023 acres, referenced in the 2nd amendment to the development agreement as the PCDC tract. The initial MUD consent in 2006 included land south of the lake, which was subsequently excluded from the MUD in the land swap per the second amendment to the development agreement and recently annexed by the City (Cactus Commercial South Annexation).
