Summary
Resolution 1473-16-01-16-0289 was approved by the City Council on January 16, 2016 and provided for the city to post signs to prohibit concealed and openly carried handguns in meetings of the City Council, Board of Adjustment, Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the municipal court, court lobby and court offices.
At the City Council meeting on April 11, 2017, Councilmember Doug Weiss requested to discuss amending the resolution to allow for concealed carry handguns.
The City Attorney has prepared the attached resolution amending Resolution 1473-16-01-16-0289 for review and discussion.
The City Council discussed the item at the April 25, 2017 worksession. An item was to be brought forward for discussion and consideration at the May 9, 2017 regular meeting.
