Approving an agreement with HVJ Associates, Inc. in the amount of $78,065 for professional engineering services associated with the design, bidding, construction administration, and material testing for the Grand Avenue Parkway Pavement Maintenance Project and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.
Summary
This project provides for up to thirty percent (30%) full depth pavement repair, mill and overlay on Grand Avenue Parkway from the southern city limits to Pflugerville Parkway.
The consultant will prepare final construction plans and project manual, final engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, and other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2015 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and 2015 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Manual.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with HVJ Associates to establish a scope of services, schedule and fee for this agreement.
Previous City Council Action
At the April 11, 2017 City Council meeting, HVJ Associates was selected as the most qualified engineer.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for this project is in the Street Department Overlay Program expenditure category in the fiscal 2017 operating budget.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approving an agreement with HVJ Associates for professional engineering services associated with the design, bidding, construction administration, and material testing for the Grand Avenue Parkway Pavement Maintenance Project in the amount of $78,065.
