Approving a resolution authorizing the City of Pflugerville, Texas request for athletic field lighting at 1849 Park, located at 16430 Cameron Road, to be in excess of 60 feet in height and with a duration past 10:00 pm.
Summary
In accordance with Section 13.9 of the Unified Development Code (UDC) athletic field lighting for any facility requires approval by City Council. The proposed project is for the 1849 Park Phase 1B to be located at 16430 Cameron Road.
The project proposes multiple light poles which will meet illumination levels consistent with UDC guidelines and will vary in height between 80 feet and 110 feet. Additional lighting for the parking lot and pedestrian paths will be provided at a smaller scale in accordance with UDC requirements. The park is designed to serve a multitude of parks activities and the various lighting provided ensures the maximum flexibility in the events and activities that may utilize the park. The use of the lights will generally conclude by 11:00 pm which ensures that proper lighting is provided for the entirety of events including exiting and maintenance of the park at the conclusion of any events/activities. Lighting design and photometric plans show that light beyond the property line will not occur.
