Discuss and consider action to award a construction contract for the East Pflugerville Parkway and SH 130 intersection improvements project to Cox Commercial Construction, LLC, the lowest responsible bidder of six (6) bids received on June 22, 2017, in the amount of $1,518,110.80 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
This project includes approximately 1,300 linear feet of SH 130 frontage road and 2,000 linear feet of E. Pflugerville Parkway roadway improvements, traffic signal construction, storm sewer improvements, sidewalk, traffic control and related construction.
Cobb-Fendley, the project’s design consultant, completed design work for this project in March 2017.
The attached bid tabulation shows the bids in which Cox Commercial Construction, LLC was the low bidder at $1,518,110.80. The estimated cost of this project was $1,569,077.
Mean average for the bids was $1,788,915.75.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on May 31, 2017. Six (6) bids were received and opened on June 22, 2017.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project was included in the 2014 general obligation bond.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the East Pflugerville Parkway and SH 130 intersection improvements project to the lowest responsible bidder, Cox Commercial Construction, LLC, in the amount of $1,518,110.80.
