Summary
The City is amending Chapter 72 of our Code of Ordinances specifically relating to speed limits on city streets by establishing the speed limit of 50 mph on East Pecan Street as a newly three-lane section from the intersection of East Pecan Street at SH 130 to the eastern City limits. This action updates our ordinance to be in compliance with state law in order to enforce speed limits on city streets.

Prior City Council Action
Chapter 72 regarding speed limits on city streets was last amended by the City Council on August 22, 2017.
The City Council approved this ordinance on first reading on September 26, 2017.
