Discuss and consider action to approve an agreement with CP&Y, Inc. in the amount of $366,631.00 for professional engineering services associated with the design, bidding and construction administration for the SH 130 and SH 45 Water and Wastewater Extensions Project and authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement.
Summary
This project provides water and wastewater line extensions in the SH 45 and SH 130 corridor to provide service to the northwest corner of SH 45 and SH 130. The engineering consultant will be required to provide engineering services including evaluation and subsequent alignment recommendations of three (3) wastewater line extensions totaling approximately 6,000 linear feet (LF) and one (1) water line extension of approximately 900 LF from existing connections under SH 130 and SH 45 to provide service to the area northwest of the highway interchange. Preparation of the final engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design, topographic surveys where required, geotechnical investigation, identification of utility conflicts, coordination with utility companies, engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost, project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
Staff negotiated with CP&Y, Inc. to develop a scope and fee proposal that serves the needs of the City and the project. Given the services necessary to complete the project, staff finds value in the qualifications of the project team and proposed project fee.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2015 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and 2015 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Manual and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Utility Accommodation Rules.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.
