The Kerlin-Lyerly American Legion Post 154 sanctioned the creation of a women’s Auxiliary program, a non-profit group which will help support the American Legion’s community programs. As their core project, the Auxiliary will be assisting families of deployed and returning military men and women across our city. As the unit grows, they will be supporting young women as participants in Girls’ State, promoting high school education in citizenship and patriotism, creating veteran awareness, and developing a host of other traditional Auxiliary programs designed to assist veterans and current military. The Kerlin-Lyerly American Legion Auxiliary Unit 154 was officially chartered on April 23, 2017.
