Discuss and consider action to approve a resolution canvassing the votes of the November 7, 2017 General Election.

 

Summary

The City of Pflugerville held its General Election on November 7, 2017 to elect Councilmembers for Place 2, Place 4 and Place 6.  Candidates for Councilmember Place 2 were Jeff Marsh and Adeline Bui.  Candidates for Councilmember Place 4 were George Lueck and Rudy Metayer.  Candidates for Councilmember Place 6 were Jim McDonald and Victor Johnson.  Results from Travis and Williamson County show that Jeff Marsh received 1,367 votes and Ms. Bui received 1,315 votes; George Lueck received 654 votes and Rudy Metayer received 2,013 votes; and Jim McDonald received 1,532 votes and Victor Johnson received 1,099 votes.

Fiscal Impact

$50,000 is included in the 2018 fiscal year budget for election expenses. The cost of the November 2017 Election is estimated at $31,441 with a breakdown as follows:

Travis County election services: $26,858

Williamson County election services: $1,118

Pflugerville Pflag election notices: $3,465
