Summary
The City Charter provides that the Mayor, with advice and consent of the City Council, shall appoint not less than five individuals to serve on the Personnel Appeal Board for up to three years. Mayor Victor Gonzales recommends the appointment of Mr. Tony Ellis and Ms. Doris Williams at this time. No additional applications were received. The Personnel Appeal Board requires a minimum of five members. No maximum number of members is provided in the City Charter. The current Personnel Appeal Board members are Mr. Melvin Clark, Mr. Tony Ellis, Mr. Dwain Jones, Ms. Michele Walty, Ms. Lorena DeZeeuw and Mr. Larry Douglas. The terms of Mr. Melvin Clark, Mr. Tony Ellis and Dwain Jones are ending December 31, 2017. The reappointment of Mr. Tony Ellis and appointment of Ms. Doris Williams will fulfill the requirement of five members. Candidate applications will be provided to the City Council separate from the agenda.
