Approving the selection of Dannenbaum Engineering Company - Austin, LLC for professional engineering services associated with the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2018 Pavement Rehabilitation Program Project and authorizing the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms to perform design services for the 2018 Pavement Rehabilitation Program.
The City of Pflugerville will be rehabilitating local, collector and arterial roadways. Example projects include roadways similar to the following:
1. Mill Creek Road, El Malino Drive, Green Meadows, Bellemeade Boulevard, or Yellow Sage Street in the Hillside Springs subdivision, or;
2. Frost Circle in the Watson Park subdivision.
This project will include:
· geotechnical engineering investigations of the existing pavement and subgrade conditions; and geotechnical engineering assessments to be summarized in technical memos or geotechnical reports;
· preparation of preliminary engineering plans including a preliminary engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost; and final construction plans, specifications, and estimates which shall include but not be limited to: coordination with utility companies, project manuals, and other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville’s 2015 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and 2015 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Manual.
Status
City staff received nine (9) statements of qualifications (SOQs) which were reviewed and scored. Dannenbaum Engineering Company - Austin, LLC was selected as the most qualified firm for this project. A copy of the final scoring matrix is attached to this agenda item.
