Title

Authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract for concrete sidewalk removal and replacement services to Xevex Construction, the lowest responsible bidder of three bids, in the amount of $6.50/sq.ft.

 

Summary

This bid is for a one-year contract with an option for two annual renewals for concrete sidewalk removal and replacement services. The budgeted amount for this item is $60,000.  The bid information for Xevex Construction and the bid tabulation sheet for this bid are attached to this agenda item.  References, insurance and other information requested in the bid packet have been checked and verified by Public Works staff. 

 

The lowest responsible bid for concrete sidewalk removal and replacement services was $6.50/sq.ft from Xevex Construction. The previous amount paid by the City for this contractual work was $6.75/sq.ft.

 

Deadline for City Council Action

Staff would ask the Council to authorize this action at this meeting in order begin the project.

 

Fiscal Impact

$60,000 for contractual concrete sidewalk removal and replacement services is included in the fiscal year 2018 budget in the Streets and Drainage department sidewalk repair line item.
