The Pflugerville Parks and Recreation department was honored by the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) as a Gold Medal Award winner for 2018 in our population category (50,000 - 100,000 people). The Gold Medal Award recognizes Parks and Recreation departments that excel in community engagement and environmental stewardship, development, long-term planning, programming, and events.
TRAPS is a state affiliate member of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and a nonprofit organization that consists of approximately 2,000 parks and recreation professionals, students and citizen advocates who share a common passion for advocacy, education, networking and offering quality services to their communities. It is a clearinghouse of information and resources to help with a wide range of challenges facing park, recreation, and leisure service professionals.
Pflugerville Parks and Recreation accepted the Gold Medal Award at the annual TRAPS conference on March 1 in Waco.
