Title
Proclamation declaring April as Sexual Violence Awareness Month in the City of Pflugerville.
Summary
Sexual violence is a public safety issue that may impact any resident of Travis County. It affects persons of all ages, races, and cultural and economic backgrounds. Because freedom from sexual violence is a basic human right, the City joins the Sexual Assault Response and Resource Team (SARRT) and the Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force (ATCFVTF) to identify areas of improvement for our coordinated community response to sexual violence. With leadership and recognition of Sexual Violence Awareness Month, together we can help with prevention through education, transparency, increased awareness, and holding perpetrators who commit acts of violence responsible for their actions. The Pflugerville Police Department encourages anyone who suspects sexual violence or experiences sexual violence to please call your Pflugerville Police Department. A representative from the District Attorney's office joins Pflugerville Police Chief Jessica Robledo and the City of Pflugerville in recognition of Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
