Discuss and consider action to award a construction contract for the East Pflugerville Parkway Widening Project to Jordan Foster Construction, LLC the lowest responsible bidder of seven (7) bids received on April 16, 2018, in the amount of $2,500,014.80 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
This project includes approximately 4,500 linear feet of pavement reconstruction with concrete curbs and gutters and underground storm drain systems.
A complete closure of the roadway from the intersection of Colorado Sand to Becker Farm Road is planned and traffic will be detoured via Pecan Street and Weiss Lane. This will allow for a compressed project schedule with anticipated completion by the end of the summer.
CobbFendley, the project’s design consultant, completed design work for this project in March 2018.
The attached bid tabulation shows the bids in which Jordan Foster Construction, LLC was the low bidder at $2,500,014.80. The estimated cost of this project was $2,647,081.50.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on March 28, 2018. Seven (7) bids were received and opened on April 16, 2018.
Fiscal Impact
Funding for this project is included in funds authorized on the 2014 general obligation bond election.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for the East Pflugerville Parkway Widening Project to the lowest responsible bidder, Jordan Foster Construction, LLC in the amount of $2,500,014.80.
