Discussion regarding regional transportation improvements as identifed within the Costco traffic impact analysis (TIA).

 

Summary

This item has been included on the agenda at the request of Councilmembers Mike Heath and Doug Weiss.

 

A TIA was required associated with the the Costco development in conjunction with the preparation of the preliminary plat last year. Due to the adjacency of TxDOT facilities, review and approval of the TIA by TxDOT was also required prior to approval of the TIA by the city.

 

The TIA covered Costco and the lots just south of Costco and assumed 14,000 sf total of fast food restaurants. A summary of mitigation costs is attached that shows a breakdown of costs assocated with each phase of the development.

No action to be taken.

 

Projected Future City Council Action

None.

 

Fiscal Impact

The total funds and improvements contributed by Costco per the TIA is $382,565.00 of which $306,000.00 is remitted to the city, and the remainder attributed to TxDOT.
