Discuss and consider action to approve a resolution expressing appreciation to the Texas Transportation Commission, the Texas Department of Transportation and our regional partners for supporting regional transportation improvements to State Highway 130.

Summary

Necessary improvements to enhance safety and alleviate congestion along SH 130 are warranted as the region continues to grow. Funding for the project to add a lane in each direction was appropriated but the project had previously been delayed. On March 27, 2018, the City Council approved Resolution No. 1624-18-03-27-0506 urging the Texas Transportation Commission to act to reinstate the project, as well as the direct connect ramp from southbound SH 130 to westbound US 290 (Manor Expressway). On Thursday, April 26, 2018, the City was notified that the Texas Transportation Commission had awarded a contract for the expansion of SH 130.  The City of Pflugerville would like to take this opportunity to officially express its appreciation to the Texas Transportation Commission, the Texas Department of Transportation and our regional partners.
