Discuss and consider action to approve an ordinance on second and final reading with the caption reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 72 REGARDING SPEED LIMITS ON CITY STREETS (PFENNIG LANE) TO ESTABLISH PRIMA FACIE MAXIMUM SPEEDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OR MAINTENANCE WORK ZONES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF CHAPTER 72 AS A CLASS C MISDEMEANOR AND A FINE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $400.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES TO THE EXTENT THEY ARE IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Summary
The City is proposing to amend Chapter 72 of the code of ordinances to implement a Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) zone for enforcement of speed zones for street improvement projects.
This request is specifically related to the speed limit in the proposed construction zone on Pfennig Lane with the following boundaries: Pfennig Lane from its intersection with Rocky Creek Drive to FM 685. This item has been included on the agenda for discussion so that staff can provide information on the proposed Traffic Control Plan for this project.
This ordinance has been approved by the City Attorney as to form.
Prior City Council Action
Chapter 72 regarding speed limits on city streets was last amended by the City Council on February 13, 2018.
This ordinance was approved on first reading on July 24, 2018.
