Discussion regarding an update for SH 45 Frontage Road project.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville entered into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the City of Round Rock in June 2016. The purpose of the ILA, attached for your review, is for the cities to collaboratively establish a preliminary design and seek required approvals to authorize the extension and connection of the frontage roads between Heatherwilde Blvd. in Pflugerville and Donnell Dr. in Round Rock. Per the ILA costs associated with this phase of the project are split 50/50. The attached Exhibit A shows the location and extent of the project.
Status
The conceptual plans have been developed and submitted to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). There being no additional comments for response from the TxDOT Georgetown Area Office, the plans have been submitted to the TxDOT Austin District Office and the Texas Turnpike Authority for further review and direction.
Fiscal Impact
The amount of $500,000 from the 2016 Certificates of Obligation issue was appropriated for this project. The current balance of those funds is $399,673. The ILA limits our obligation to $300,000 for sharing engineering costs, and half the administrative costs, if any, that may be due to TxDOT in conjunction with this project.
