Approving an agreement with McGray & McGray Land Surveyors, Inc. in the amount of $66,569 for professional surveying services associated with establishing a survey control and benchmark network.
Summary
The scope of work for this project includes the installation and establishment of a high precision permanent network of horizontal and vertical survey control stations and accurate spatial references for future growth and development that is compatible with the City’s Geographic Information System.
Network benchmarks will serve as reference points for construction projects by providing precise vertical elevation information. The project will establish a Primary Control Network with the installation of monuments. All monuments will be set to National Geodetic Survey standards and be in NAD 1983 State Plane Central Texas US Feet.
The attached agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with McGray & McGray Land Surveyors, Inc. to establish a scope and fee for this project.
Prior City Council Action
City Council approved the selection of McGray & McGray Land Surveyors, Inc. at the August 14, 2018 City Council meeting for professional surveying services associated with the establishment a survey control and benchmark network and authorized the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.
Fiscal Impact
The funding for this project in the amount of $70,000 was allocated in the FY18 Utility Administration budget in the Other Professional Fees line item.

Staff recommends approval of this agreement with McGray & McGray Land Surveyors, Inc. in the amount of $66,569 for professional surveying services associated with establishing a survey control and benchmark network.
