Summary
Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement organization, recently named Pflugerville and its Keep Pflugerville Beautiful Program a Gold Star Affiliate. Gold Star recognition is the highest status any community affiliate can achieve.
The Keep Pflugerville Beautiful Staff (Sheila Wiora, Eddie Garcia & Patricia Rinehart) received the Gold Star Affiliate Recognition at the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference in June.
Requirements for the certification were met throughout the year by attending various trainings provided by Keep Texas Beautiful, attending the Keep Texas Beautiful Beautiful Annual Conference, submitting a Letter of Support from an elected official, and completing all of the requirements for silver star recognition.
The Gold Star Affiliate is a requirement to apply for the GCAA (Governors Community Achievement Award) which offers communities the opportunities to share over $2 million in award money in partnership with TXDOT.
This is the 8th Gold Star Affiliate Recognition presented to the City of Pflugerville/Keep Pflugerville Beautiful.
