Present update regarding Pflugerville Pforward: Master Transportation Plan efforts to date and expected activities over the next two months.
Summary
The Pflugerville Master Transportation Plan work began in earnest after the transportation bond election in November. The first steps were to develop a list of committee members to assist the project team with public involvement efforts. This group came to be known as the Transportation Project Oversight Committee and they are members of the public and our partner agencies that will help hone the messages, tools, and schedules that we use to engage the public. They are also becoming project ambassadors that will be able to help other citizens at public meetings.
City staff will host the first public meeting on April 30th at the library and our first public engagement tool went live two weeks ago with the online interactive Wikimap tool. This will allow busy folks that can’t be at a public meeting to give as much input to the process as if they had been present in person. The second public meeting will be scheduled later this summer with scenario planning and CIP development occurring afterwards. The final plan is expected to be brought to council for consideration and approval in early November.
Prior City Council Action
City Council approved an agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide professional services associated with the Master Transportation Plan on August 28, 2018.
