Approve a resolution approving a Travis Central Appraisal District real estate acquisition.
Summary
The Travis Central Appraisal District (TCAD) has exceeded the workspace at its current facility and conducted an analysis of six properties in order to identify addiitonal space. The property at 850 E. Anderson Lane was selected as the one that best meets the demands of additional office space to serve the taxing entities and taxpayers of Travis County.
The Texas Property Tax Code, Section 6.051, requires transactions involving real property of an appraisal district to be approved by the governing bodies of three-fourths of the taxing units. TCAD is not requesting any funding for this transaction, only the approval required by state law, and TCAD has sufficient funding to complete this purchase. A letter from TCAD, specifications on the property selected and a resolution adopted by the TCAD Board are all included in the attached Information from TCAD file.
