This item has been included on the agenda to allow for introduction of the members of the Youth Advisory Council and to present certificates of appointment.
The City Council approved the creation of a Youth Advisory Council (YAC), a program to teach local high school youth about city government and get them involved in their city. The Mayor serves as council representative and liaison to support the youth participants.
The YAC participants will volunteer at city events, tour city facilities, attend various board and commission meetings and complete the year with a visit to the annual YAC Summit. Each class will select a class project to complete over the course of the year.
