Approving a resolution approving personnel policies in accordance with the City Charter.
Summary
Section 4.05 of the City Charter provides that the City Manager, subject to the approval of the City Council, shall develop policies and procedures to govern the hearing and redress of employee grievances regarding wages, hours of work and conditions of work and to provide for the annual evaluation of all employees. This resolution item has been provided to submit these policies and procedures to the City Council for approval in accordance with the City Charter.
Prior City Council Action
Personnel Policies were last approved by the City Council in 1997.
This item was tabled on October 8, 2019 and October 22, 2019 to allow staff to address Councilmember concerns with the wording. The policies have been amended to address these concerns.
