Summary
Jean Taylor, referred to as “Grandma Jean”, has been volunteering at Pflugerville Animal Shelter for over three years. Shelter staff nominated Grandma Jean for Volunteer of the Year with Texas Animal Control Association for her dedicated service to working with shelter cats several days a week, mentoring new volunteers, and helping with off-site adoption events, as well as hosting pet supply drives at her senior living community. Texas Animal Control Association has over 400 members and more than 175 agencies represented from across Texas. Jean Taylor was selected and awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award by the TACA President at the annual TACA Conference which took place in November. Grandma Jean and her daughters attended the awards ceremony with Rhonda McLendon, Director of Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services.
