Approving the award of a construction contract for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Biltmore Avenue and Pecan Street to Austin Traffic Signal Construction Company, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder of two (2) bids received on January 15, 2020 in the amount of $261,457.75 and authorizing the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
This project includes construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Biltmore Avenue and Pecan Street. The need for the signal was identified in the Timmerman 75 Acre & SH Commerce Center Traffic Impact Analysis and the intersection currently meets signal warrants.
Pacheco Koch, the project’s design consultant, completed design work for this project in December 2019.
As shown on the attached bid tabulation, Austin Traffic Signal Construction Company, Inc. was the low bidder with a base bid of $261,457.75. The engineer’s estimated cost for a base bid was $286,689.92.
Prior City Council Action
City Council approved a professional services agreement with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc. in the amount of $213,650.00 for professional engineering services associated with the Pecan Street Intersection Improvements Projects on February 26, 2019.
