Summary
National Public Works Week is a celebration of the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. National Public Works Week is observed each year in May to raise the public's awareness of public works issues and to increase confidence in public works employees who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for present and future generations.
This year’s theme “The Rhythm of Public Works" represents how Public Works keeps the community rhythm moving by providing an orchestra of infrastructure services in transportation, water and wastewater, public buildings, and fleet services. Public Works provides harmony needed for collaboration with all stakeholders in capital projects, infrastructure solutions and quality of life services.
In recognition of Public Works Week, the City has created and will display a video that demonstrates the various activities that the City's Public Works Department is responsible for and showcase our employees that provide these essential services ensuring the City's utility, transportation, drainage, facility, and fleet infrastructure is properly constructed, operated and maintained.
