Summary
This item has been included on the agenda to allow the City Council to officially order a special bond election for November 3, 2020. The City Council discussed potential elections to be held at their regular meeting on June 9, 2020. The City Council discussed the bond election propositions at the June 23, 2020 worksession and regular meeting. The City Council discussed and took action on direction to staff regarding the preparation of the propositions on July 14, 2020 and approved the proposition language as attached on July 28, 2020.
The attached resolution ordering the November 3, 2020 special bond election has been prepared by the City's bond counsel, Richard Donoghue of McCall, Parkhurst and Horton. Election Day and early voting locations are still being determined at this time. The proposed Election Day and early voting locations included in Exhibit A of the resolution are subject to change. The supplemental agenda which was posted in Spanish is also attached.
Prior City Council Action
On February 11, 2020, the City Council approved Resolution No. 1752-20-02-11-0702 ordering a special bond election to be held on May 2, 2020.
On April 2, 2020, the City Council approved Resolution No.1756-20-04-02-0715 postponing the special bond election to November 3, 2020.
On July 14, 2020, the City Council took action to provide direction to staff regarding the preparations of propositions for the special bond election on November 3, 2020.
On July 28, 2020, the City Council approved the proposition language for the special bond election on November 3, 2020.
