Summary
The scope of work for this project includes the furnishing and installment of ionization units in all City facilities for air purification as a safety measure in protecting City employees and residents that may interact with staff. This technology introduces positively and negatively charged ions to oxygen being brought into facilities. This allows for particulate to agglomerate or bind causing pathogens to fall out of breathing space becoming able to be filtered where otherwise pathogenic particulate is too stratified and fine leading to ineffective filtration.
On June 23, 2020, the City Council approved a Travis County Interlocal Agreement for Administration of CRF Funding Under the CARES Act, allowing for reimbursement of qualifying expenditures under this agreement. This purchase was reviewed and approved as a reimbursable expense.
