Authorize the procurement of services by D.I.J. Construction, Inc. for pavement marking in an amount not to exceed $190,000 based on an Interlocal Purchasing Cooperative agreement and authorize the City Manager to execute same.
Summary
As part of routine street maintenance services, striping is refreshed and completed annually utilizing contractors due to the specialized nature and equipment required to perform this work. The City of Pflugerville has a variety of pavement markings, and approximately 233 centerline miles of roadway that require restriping for increased visibility and traffic safety.
The funding for the striping was included as a line item in the FY 2020 Streets and Drainage Department budget as Pavement Marking (contracted). Pavement marking work will begin following Council approval and the not to exceed amount is intended for serving pavement marking needs throughout FY 21.
The City entered into an Interlocal Agreement for Joint and Cooperative Purchasing By and Between The Cities Of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Hutto, Leander, Georgetown, Taylor, and Pflugerville Texas, and The Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority, Inc., and Open To Other Eligible Governmental Entities in 2013 which allows extension of Leander's contract to be used by the City.
