Approving City of Pflugerville participation in the Travis County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update for 2022 and authorizing the City Manager to execute a letter of intent for participation and any and all future agreements for participation in the Travis County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2022 Update.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville is a current participant in the Travis County Hazard Mitigation Plan that was completed in 2017. Travis County has requested a letter of intent from all partner cities to be included in their application for a Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Grant with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the Travis County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update for 2022.
City staff is currently in the process of providing status reports to Travis County Emergency Management in support of the update efforts for each of the 19 actions cited in the plan. The Pflugerville actions are located on pages 393-411 of the Mitigation Plan electronic document found at this link: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/emergency_services/docs/hazard-mitigation-plan-2017.pdf. Additional opportunities to advance these actions will be considered in preparation of the upcoming capital improvement plan updates (early 2021) and the FY 22 budget.
The cost of participation in the update is to be determined based upon access to grant funding and the number of participating jurisdictions but is anticipated to be approximately $3000 to $5000 for larger jurisdictions such as Pflugerville.

The City Council approved a resolution approving a Hazard Mitigation Plan on October 10, 2017.
