Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: Ordinance of The City of Pflugerville, Texas, amending the City of Pflugerville, Texas Code of Ordinances, Chapter 72 by supplementing Schedule III to provide for additional Stop Signs on City streets, providing for a penalty for a violation of Chapter 72 as a Class C misdemeanor and a fine in an amount not to exceed $200.00; repealing all ordinances to the extent they are in conflict; providing for severability; and providing an effective date.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville desires to continue to protect and ensure the public health, safety, and welfare of its residents and businesses by regulating and guiding road users for the protection of the general traveling public. The City is amending Chapter 72 of our Code of Ordinances, specifically relating to stop signs on public streets, by adding new stop signs that have been installed with new development. This update encompasses all stop signs accepted through the construction process through December 31, 2020 and is the final step to in order to enforce stop sign violations on city streets in accordance with state law. Since first reading, four additional stop signs have been added to exhibit for the intersection of Helios and Sunlightnear Way. With this addition, a 3rd Reading of the ordinance will occur on February 23, 2021.
