Title

Approving a resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for and to accept, if awarded, a State Homeland Security Program Grant award in the amount of $172,681.00 from the Office of the Governor for the funding of equipment.

 

Summary

This resolution authorizes the City Manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, a State Homeland Security Program Grant award in the amount of $172,681.00 from the Office of the Governor for the funding of a transport van to be utilized by the Central Texas Regional SWAT Team ($42,297) for personnel and equipment transport, and 8 sets of night vision goggles for SWAT team members ($130,384).  This equipment will support officer response to crime within the City of Pflugerville, as well as part of the Central Texas Regional SWAT team. There is no funding match for this grant from the City. Approval is also requested to authorize the City Manager to sign all necessary documents upon final approval of the City Attorney. Please find the attached resolution.
