Approving a resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for and to accept, if awarded, a First Responder Mental Health Program Grant award for $13,030.00 from the Office of the Governor for the enhancement of the current Police Resiliency Program for department staff.

Summary
This resolution authorizes the City Manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, a First Responder Mental Health Program Grant award for $13,030.00 from the Office of the Governor for the enhancement of the current Police Resiliency Program for department staff. The funding will support a contract for weekly yoga ($3,750), replacement supplies for the Yoga sessions ($600), resiliency reference materials for the library pertaining to job related stress and PTSD ($1,000) and peer support team training and stress management training for employees ($7,680). There is a 20% funding match for this grant from the City which will be met with existing salary and fringe benefits of the Lieutenant overseeing the program (3,332). Approval is also requested to authorize the City Manager to sign all necessary documents upon final approval of the City Attorney. Please find the attached resolution.

Prior City Council Action
The City Council approved grant applications in March 2019 and March 2020 allowing for First Responder Mental Health Program Grant awards.
